INTRODUCTION
A charming hill station that
retains much of its pristine beauty, Kodaikanal is
located in the Palani Hills not far from Madurai (120
km). While its magnificent landscapes provide ideal
settings for the trigger happy photographer, its wooded
slopes and winding paths are excellent for leisurely
strolls. The main attraction here is the star shaped
lake. Boating on the lake is a popular pastime and the
5 km path around it, is a favourite promenade. The
popular summer 'season'; is enlivened by various
exhibitions and activities including a horticultural
show and an exciting regatta. Kodaikanal also has a
fine golf-course. For a nominal fee, visitors can
become temporary members and use the course.

SHENBAGANUR MUSEUM
House on of the best orchid
collections in India and is maintained by the Sacred
Heart College , a theological seminary almost a hundred
years old.
COAKER'S WALD
On the steep southern face of the
Kodai Ridge with its Telescope house offers a fine view
of the plains.
GREEN VALLEY VIEW
Lies 5.5 km from the lake.
BEAR SHOLA FALLS
With its fine view point overlooks
tall rock outcrops 121 meters high.
OTHER BEAUTIFUL SPOTS
Kodai include the Silver Cascade,
Perumal Peak, Berijam Lake, Kukkal Cave and Fairy
Falls.
