2. What are the different duration of visas available to India?

Tourist visas come for different durations - 15 day, single or double entry transit visas, valid for thirty days from the date of issue; three month non extendible multiple entry visas, valid for three months from the date of entry into India (which must be within 30 days from the date of issue); and six month, multiple entry visas valid for six months from the date of issue of the visa.

You are not allowed to bring in Indian currency or take it out of the country. You can bring any amount of foreign currency in the form of travellers' cheques and anything over US $ 2500 has to be declared at the Indian customs.

5. How safe is the water to drink in India?

Do not generally, have water when you are very sure of the source of it. Mineral water bottles are easily available everywhere and it is recommended that use only sealed bottles for consumption.
